"Hope maketh not ashamed(Rom5:5).- I am the Lord: . . . they shall not be ashamed that wait for Me(Isa49:23).- Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is(Jer17:7).- Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee. Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength(Isa26:3,4).- My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my defense; I shall not be moved(Psa62:5,6).- I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed(2Tim1:12)."

God's Promises Bring Hope...- Tyndale, NLT Bible.......Hebrews6:13-20 "For example, there was God's promise to Abraham. Since there was no one greater to swear by, God took an oath in His own name, saying: 'I will certainly bless you, and I will multiply your descendants beyond number.' Then Abraham waited patiently, and he received what God promised. Now when people take an oath, they call on someone greater than themselves to hold them to it. And without any question that oath is binding. God also bound Himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that He would never change His mind. So God has given both His promise and His oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to Him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God's inner sanctuary. Jesus has already gone in there for us. He has become our internal High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.”

You cannot go around and keep score. If you keep score on the good things and the bad things, you'll find out that you're a very miserable person. God gave man the ability to forget, which is one of the greatest attributes you have. Because if you remember everything that's happened to you, you generally remember that which is the most unfortunate...- Hubert Humphrey.....James3:13 "Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such 'wisdom' does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice."

God knows exactly when to withhold or to grant us any visible sign of encouragement. How wonderful it is when we will trust Him in either case! Yet it is better when all visible evidence that He is remembering us is withheld. He wants us to realize that His Word--His promise of remembering us--is more real and dependable than any evidence our senses may reveal. It is good when He sends the visible evidence, but we appreciate it even more after we have trusted Him without it. And those who are the most inclined to trust God without any evidence except His Word always receive the greatest amount of visible evidence of His love...- Charles Gaudet Trumbull, Streams In the Desert.....Gen8:9-11 "But the dove could find no place to set its feet . . . so it returned to Noah in the ark. . . . He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark. When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf!"

#0003094

Delayed answers to prayers are not refusals. Many prayers are received and recorded, yet underneath are the words, 'My time has not yet come.' God has a fixed time and an ordained purpose, and He who controls the limits of our lives also determines the time of our deliverance...- Cowman-Reimann, Streams In the Desert.....Galatians6:9 "So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up."

#0003095

An enemy can partly ruin a man, but it takes a good-natured injudicious friend to complete the thing and make it perfect...- Mark Twain.......Proverbs22:12 "The Lord preserves those with knowledge, but He ruins the plans of the treacherous."

#0003096

Nature understands no jesting. She is always true, always serious, always severe. She is always right, and the errors are always those of man...- Johann Von Goethe.....Jeremiah2:21 "Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me."

#0003097

Adopt the pace of nature, her secret is patience...- Ralph Waldo Emerson.....James5:7,8 "Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord's return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near."

#0003098

And the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started And know the place for the first time...- T. S. Eliot.....Philippians4:7 "Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."

#0003099

To produce things and to rear them, To produce, but not to take possession of them, To act, but not to rely on one's own ability, To lead them, but not to master them - This is called profound and secret virtue...- Lao Tzu.....Jn15:8 "Herein is My Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be My disciples."

#0003100

The sign of an intelligent people is their ability to control emotions by the application of reason...- Marya Mannes.....Proverbs4:6 "Don't turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you. Love her, and she will guard you."

#0003101

"The righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe(Rom3:22).- For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ(2Cor5:21).- Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us(Gal3:13).- God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made Him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; He made us pure and holy, and He freed us from sin. Therefore, as the Scriptures say, 'If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord'(1Cor1:30,31)."

#0003102

"He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit(Titus3:5). He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior(v6). Because of His grace He declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life(v7). This is a trustworthy saying, and I want you to insist on these teachings so that all who trust in God will devote themselves to doing good. These teachings are good and beneficial for everyone(v8). Do not get involved in foolish discussions about spiritual pedigrees or in quarrels and fights about obedience to Jewish laws. These things are useless and a waste of time(v9). If people are causing divisions among you, give a first and second warning. After that, have nothing more to do with them(v10). For people like that have turned away from the truth, and their own sins condemn them(Titus3:10)."

#0003103

"For through Him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore you are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God(Eph2:18,19).- Doubtless Thou art our Father, . . . Thou, O Lord, art our Father, our redeemer; Thy name is from everlasting(Isa63:16).- I will arise and go to my Father, and will say unto Him, Father, I have sinned against Heaven, and before Thee, and am no more worthy to be called Thy son: make me as one of Thy hired servants(Luke15:18-20).- Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children(Eph5:1).- The spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father(Rom8:15)."

#0003104

Don't let your special character and values, the secret that you know and no one else does, the truth -- don't let that get swallowed up by the great chewing complacency...- Aesop.....Proverbs24:3,4 "A house is built by wisdom and becomes strong through good sense. Through knowledge its rooms are filled with all sorts of precious riches and valuables."

#0003105

Parents can only give good advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a person's character lies in their own hands...- Anne Frank.....Deuteronomy30:19,20 "Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying Him, and committing yourself firmly to Him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob."

#0003106

The probability that we may fail in the struggle ought not to deter us from the support of a cause we believe to be just...- Abraham Lincoln.....Proverbs24:5,6 "The wise are mightier than the strong, and those with knowledge grow stronger and stronger. So don't go to war without wise guidance; victory depends on having many advisers."

#0003107

"Don't envy evil people or desire their company(Proverbs24:1). For their hearts plot violence, and their words always stir up people(v2).- A person who plans evil will get a reputation as a troublemaker(Prv24:8). The schemes of a fool are sinful; everyone detests a mocker(v9).- If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small(Prv24:10)."

#0003108

"And remember that the Heavenly Father to whom you pray has no favorites. He will judge or reward you according to what you do. So you must live in reverent fear of Him during your time as 'foreigners in the land'(1Pet1:17). For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom He paid was not mere gold or silver(v18). It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God(v19). God chose Him as your ransom long before the world began, but He has now revealed Him to you in these last days(v20). Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And you have placed your faith and hope in God because He raised Christ from the dead and gave Him great glory(1Pet1:21)."

#0003109

Well done is better than well said...- Benjamin Franklin........1Pet1:13 "So think clearly and excercise self-control. Look forward to the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world."

#0003110

Health is not valued till sickness comes...- Thomas Fuller.....1Pet1:14 "So you must live as God's obedient children. Don't slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn't know any better then."

#0003111

It is easy to despise what you cannot get...- Aesop.....1Peter1:6,7 "So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold--though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world."

#0003112

"For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God(1Pet1:23). As the Scriptures say, 'People are like grass; their beauty is like a flower in the field. The grass withers and the flower fades(v24). But the Word of the Lord remains forever.' And that Word is the Good News that was preached to you(1Peter1:25)."

#0003113

"Put all your rebellion behind you, and find yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O people of Israel? 'I don't want you to die,' says the Sovereign Lord. Turn back and live(Ezekiel18:31,32).- And a servant who knows what the master wants, but isn't prepared and doesn't carry out those instructions, will be severely punished(Luke12:47).- The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord(Romans6:23).- Don't you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living(Romans6:16)."

#0003114

Does God allow everything that happens in your life? Does He really have a purpose behind each event, every circumstance of every day? Jeremiah wrote, "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future'(Jer29:11)." This promise appeals to us. Who doesn't want to prosper and to sustain no harm?...- Sala, Refuge And Strength........1Chronicles4:10 "Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, 'Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.' And God granted his request."

#0003115

We often see what we want to envision, not God's ability to sustain us in difficult times. Our priority is our will--not God's will. Life is filled with difficulties. Babies are born who fight for their lives. You get laid off. The doctor says you have cancer. Then your heart cries, 'Oh God, I thought you said everything would be great if I followed You!'. . . God uses tough times and difficult people to soften us so that we become more like His Son. When difficulties come, it isn't necessarily a reflection of His disapproval as much as it is the reality that we live in a broken world. God's purpose for your life includes times of walking through difficult times by faith. Faith is a commitment to the belief that God is good and He will honor His Word no matter how you feel. Trust Him. He knows what He's doing even when you don't...- Sala, Refuge And Strength.......2Samuel7:22 "How great You are, O Sovereign Lord! There is no one like You, and there is no God but You, as we have heard with our own ears.”

#0003116

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him(Jn3:36).- Anyone who wants to be My disciple must follow Me, because My servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves Me(Jn12:26).- And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work(2 Cor9:8)."

#0003117

He is richest who is content with the least, for content is the wealth of nature... Socrates ..... Deut33:25 "As thy days, so shall thy strength be."

#0003118

Have courage for the great sorrows of life and have patience for the small ones. Go to sleep in peace. God awake...- Victor Hugo.....Jer29:11 "I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."

#0003119

He who wishes to exert a useful influence must be careful to insult nothing. Let him not be troubled by what seems absurd, but concentrate his energies to the creation of what is good. He must not demolish, but build. He must raise temples where mankind may come and partake of the purest pleasure...- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.......James1:27 "Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for widows and orphans in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you."

#0003120

"But if you fail to drive out the people who live in the land, those who remain will be like splinters in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will harass you in the land where you live. And I will do to you what I had planned to do to them(Numbers33:55).- Fight the good fight of faith(1Tim6:12).- The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds; casting down imaginations, . . . and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ(2Cor10:4,5)."

#0003121

You may say, 'I'm more interested in talking about health, happiness, life, and pleasure--isn't that what finding God's purpose for my life is about? One of the things that you don't learn in a classroom is that God's purpose for our lives is to be enriched, purified, and changed into His image through suffering, pain, hardship, and difficulty. . . As a goldsmith would repeatedly put a small vessel containing gold in a clay tile over a fire, then take off the dross, and put it back over the fire said, 'When I see the reflection of my face on the ore, I know it is done. . . God's purpose in times of difficulty is to refine us until the world sees His reflection in our lives. He's always in control so that we never experience too much fire and never for too long...- Sala, Refuge And Strength.....Phi3:10 "I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death."

#0003122

Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure His greatness(Psalm145:3). Let each generation tell its children of Your mighty acts; let them proclaim Your power(v4). I will meditate on Your majestic, glorious, splendor and Your wonderful miracles(v5). Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue; I will proclaim Your greatness(v6). Everyone will share the story of Your wonderful goodness; they will sing with joy about Your righteousness(Psa145:7)."

#0003123

"O God, You take no pleasure in wickedness; You cannot tolerate the sins of the wicked(Psa5:4). Therefore, the proud may not stand in Your presence, for You hate all who do evil(v5). You will destroy those who tell lies. The Lord detests murderers and deceivers(Psa5:6).- O Lord, hear me as I pray; pay attention to my groaning(Psa5:1). Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for I pray to no one but You(v2). Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to You and wait expectantly(Psa5:3)."
