Jer 29:11-13 "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes..."

Has the way in which you have been serving God betrayed you into exhaustion? If so, then rally your affections. Where did you start the service from? From your own sympathy or from the basis of the Redemption of Jesus Christ? Continually go back to the foundation of your affections and recollect where the source of power is. Be exhausted for God, but remember that your supply comes from Him. "All my fresh springs shall be in Thee"...-O.Chambers........Isaiah40:28 "The everlasting God...will not grow tired or weary."

#0000628

Communicate Your Legacy...We asked some old-timers to design a company museum that captured our legacy. The result was a stream of passion that extended from the most senior to the most recent members of the team...Moses kept a historical record so those who came later would know how they got to where they were...-Genesis5:1 "This is the written account of the descendants of Adam."

#0000629

I am certain of nothing but the holiness of the heart's affections and the truth of imagination...-John Keats...........Hebrews13:18 "Pray for us. We are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way."

#0000631

There is no more miserable human being than one in whom nothing is habitual but indecision...-William James.........Proverbs26:4 "Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you will be like him yourself."

#0000632

Convictions are more dangerous enemies of truth than lies...-Friedrich Nietzche........Proverbs25:9 "If you argue your case with a neighbor, do not betray another man's confidence, or he who hears it may shame you and you will never lose your bad reputation."

#0000633

Knowing anything for sure is never possible...-Malcolm Forbes........Proverbs25:27 "It is not good to eat too much honey, nor is it honorable to seek one's own honor."

#0000634

We don't laugh because we are happy. We are happy because we laugh...-William James..........Proverbs25:20 "Like one who takes away a garment on a cold day, or like vinegar poured on soda, is one who sings songs to a heavy heart."

#0000635

Hey, you just go out there to play, and you play to win, and so far I've done it!...-Tiger Woods........1Corinthians9:25-26 "Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air."

#0000636

He didn't want to fall into the trap of believing that corrupt principles, practices, and affections are acceptable. He was concerned that poverty could cause him to become covetous and to disgrace God's Name. But he also realized how easily riches could pamper him and cause him to deny the Lord...-Albert Lee........Proverbs30:7-9 "O God, I beg two favors from you before I die. First, help me never to tell a lie. Second, give me neither poverty nor riches! Give me just enough to satisfy my needs. For if I grow rich, I may deny you and say, 'Who is the Lord?' And if I am too poor, I may steal and thus insult God's holy name."

#0000637

Practice, Practice, Practice...-Father of Charley Hull- 11year old rising British girl golfing sensation on being asked what he could attribute to her phenomemal prowess and growth........Proverbs13:4 "The sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied."

#0000638

The people of God in Isaiah's day had starved their imagination by looking on the face of idols, and Isaiah made them look up at the heavens, that is, he made them begin to use their imagination aright. Is your imagination looking on the face of an idol? Is the idol yourself? Your work? Your conception of what a worker should be? Your experience of salvation and sanctification? Then your imagination of God is starved, and when you are up against difficulties you have no power, you can only endure in darkness. If your imagination is starved, do not look back to your own experience; it is God whom you need. Go right out of yourself, away from the face of your idols, away from everything that has been starving your imagination. Rouse yourself, take the gibe that Isaiah gave the people, and deliberately turn your imagination to God...-Chambers, My Utmost.........Isaiah40:26 "Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these?"

Bats are virtually blind, so they send radar signals ahead of them. This allows them to fly through dense forests without hitting any branches. 'Bat Walk' is the practice of walking through a crowded terminal or down a city sidewalk with your eyes scanning the crowd twenty to thirty feet ahead. By doing so, you can adjust your direction and flow through the sea of people with amazing smoothness.-By keeping your gaze far ahead of the immediate environment, you will be able to adjust to whatever comes your way........Genesis32:7-8 "Jacob was terrified at the news. He divided his household, along with the flocks and herds and camels, into two groups. He thought, 'If Esau meets one group and attacks it, perhaps the other group can escape."

#0000640

We have to go where the opportunities lie. 20years ago no one could know that China or India would become the Open Capital Markets of growth that they are today; or that Hedge Funds would grow to the size of US$20billion each fund as they are today; or that the Credit Markets would be as liberal as they became large, and we now will strive to use our strengths in areas where we can make a difference while striking a good balance between Capital Intensive and Less Capital Intensive Investments. The Risk-Reward scenario will always have to be kept in focus...-Alan Schwartz, CEO BearStearns........Ezekiel17:24 "I the Lord have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish."

#0000641

"In Him was life; and the life was the light of men....As many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the Sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God..... It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the Words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are life.-The Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Thy Word hath quickened me." John1:4,12,13. John6:63.-Hebrews4:12. Psalm119:50...

#0000642

Redefine Success. Is there a better foundation on which to build your core values?..-Seybert, Leaders..........Romans12:9-18 "Don't just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. When God's people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.....Bless those who persecute you. Don't curse them;pray that God will bless them. Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. Live in harmony....Enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don't think you know it all!.....Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone."

#0000643

Be willing to make decisions. That's the most important quality in a good leader. Don't fall victim to what I call the ready-aim-aim-aim-aim syndrome. You must be willing to fire...-T. Boone Pickens........Colossians4:17 "See to it that you complete the work you have received in the Lord."

#0000644

The thing has already taken form in my mind before I start it.The first attempts are absolutely unbearable. If you see something worthwhile in what I am doing, it is not by accident but because of direction and purpose...-Vincent Van Gogh.............Proverbs21:5 "The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty."

#0000645

This is the law of prosperity. When apparent adversity comes, be not cast down by it, but make the best of it and always look forward for better things, for conditions more prosperous...-Ralph Waldo Emerson..........John16:24 "Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete."

#0000646

A perfect day would be spending time with God in the morning, then realizing at the end of the day that I faced life's challenges with grace and courage...-Cris Blas-Palanca, Lifestyle Asia........Proverbs20:9.-Psalm14:2 "Who can say, I have made my heart clean?.-The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God."

#0000647

Rivers do not drink the water they carry; Trees do not eat the fruit they bear; Clouds do not bathe in the rain they produce. WE are meant to give, even if WE get nothing from it.

Measuring life by what others do may disappoint us, but measuring life by what WE do will make life meaningful...-Raul Romulo.......Jeremiah5:22.-Isaiah43:2 Fear ye not Me? saith the Lord: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it?- When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee."

#0000648

You can't please everybody if you are going to make a difference in this world...-Melvin Chapman........Psalm93:4.-Psalm56:3 "The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.-What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee."

#0000649

The Inspiration Of Spiritual Initiative-We all have any number of visions and ideals when we are young, but sooner or later we find that we have no power to make them real. We cannot do the things we long to do, and we are apt to settle down to the visions and ideals as dead, and God has to come and say-"Rise from the dead." When the inspiration of God does come, it comes with such miraculous power that we are able to arise from the dead and do the impossible thing. God does not give us overcoming life; He gives us life 'as we overcome'. If we will do the overcoming, we shall find we are inspired of God because He gives life immediately...-Chambers, My Utmost For His Highest........Ephesians5:14 "Rise from the dead."

#0000650

Even the fact that we face a trial proves there is something very precious to our Lord in us, or else He would not spend so much time and energy on us. Christ would not test us if He did not see the precious metal of faith mingled with the rocky core of our nature, and it is to refine us into purity and beauty that He forces us through the fiery ordeal...L.B.Cowman........Luke10:2 "The Lord of the harvest": 'is not always threshing us. His trials are only for a season, and the showers soon pass.'

#0000651

Trials do serve their purpose. Be patient, O sufferer! The result of the Refiner's fire will more than compensate for our trials, once we see the 'eternal glory that far outweighs them all.' Just to hear His commendation, "Well done"(Matthew25:21); to be honored before the holy angels; to be glorified in 4:17 "Our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all."

#0000652

It is not difficult for the Lord to turn night into day. He who sends the clouds can just as easily clear the skies. Let us be encouraged--things are better down the road. Let us sing God's praises in anticipation of things to come...-Charles H. Spurgeon........Psalm30:5 "Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning."

#0000653

Trials do serve their purpose. Be patient, O sufferer! The result of the Refiner's fire will more than compensate for our trials, once we see the 'eternal glory that far outweighs them all.' Just to hear His commendation, "Well done"(Matthew25:21); to be honored before the holy angels; to be glorified in Christ, so that I may reflect His glory back to Him--ah! that will be more than enough reward for all my trials...-from Tried By Fire........2Corinthians4:17 "Our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all."

#0000654

The Black Swan Effect: Value at Risk-The rare and unexpected and unpredictable occurence of an event/s that suddenly upset normal market circumstances and cannot be foreseen by the established practice of projecting market trends based on historical facts...-Bloomberg........Deuteronomy29:29 "The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law."

#0000655

Expect unexpected things to occur. Be flexible. Don't be surprised by surprises. Many circumstances are beyond our control. You can-and should-plan for various scenarios, but always remember that 'Stuff Happens'. Take time to review your current strategies. Is there room for adjustment along the way? Or will things fall apart if they don't go exactly according to plan? Everyone knows Job's story. He's the guy who lost everything and displayed such an enduring spirit that we describe persevering people as having "the patience of Job"...-Seybert, Leaders........1Corinthians1:30 "Of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, Who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption."

#0000656

Decision makers need all the facts, both positive and negative. There is no pleasure in being the bearer of bad news-except that it eventually leads to corrective action-and I always preface my comments by saying, “This will be uncomfortable, but you paid me to tell you the truth, so here it is.” Don’t pull punches or sugarcoat reality, but protect the feelings of the person receiving the report… - Seybert, Leaders…….. Daniel 4:19 “Daniel was overcome for a time, frightened by the meaning of the dream… “I wish the events foreshadowed in this dream would happen to your enemies, my lord, and not to you.”

#0000657

Dreaming about a thing in order to do it properly is right; but dreaming about it when we should be doing it is wrong. Leave Him to be the source of all your dreams and joys and delights, and go out and obey what He has said. If you are in love, you do not sit down and dream about the one you love all the time, you go and do something for him; and that is what Jesus Christ expects us to do. Dreaming after God has spoken is an indication that we do not trust Him…- Chambers, My Utmost…… John 14:31 “`Come now; let us leave.’”
