"If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important(Gal6:3). Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won't need to compare yourself to anyone else(v4). For we are each responsible for our own conduct(v5). Those who are taught the word of God should provide for their teachers, sharing all good things with them(v6). Don't be misled--you cannot mock the justice of God you will always harvest what you plant(v7). Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature(v8). But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit(v8). So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up(v9). Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone--especially to those in the family of faith(v10)."

Nothing that is not part of God's will is allowed to come into the life of someone who trusts and obeys Him. This truth should be enough to make our life one of ceaseless thanksgiving and joy, because God's will is the most hopeful, pleasant, and glorious thing in the world. It is the continuous working of His Omnipotent power for our benefit, with nothing to prevent it, if we remain surrendered and believing. Isn't it glorious to know that no matter how unjust something may be, even when it seems to have come from Satan himself, by the time it reaches us it is God's will for us and will ultimately work to our good?...- Hannah Whitall Smith, Streams In The Desert.....Rom8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him."
#0002452
We live fascinating lives if we are living in the center of God's will. All the attacks that Satan hurls at us through the sins of others are not only powerless to harm us but are transformed into blessings along the way. Think of what Jesus Christ said as He was betrayed: "Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given Me(John18:11)?"...- HW Smith, Streams.....Jn19:11 "You would have no power over Me if it were not given to you from above."

It is very easy to quench the Spirit; we do it by despising the chastening of the Lord, by fainting when we are rebuked by Him. If we have only a shallow experience of sanctification, we mistake the shadow for the reality, and when the Spirit of God begins to check, we say--oh, that must be the devil. . . Never quench the Spirit, and do not despise Him when He says to you--'Don't be blind on this point; you are not where you thought you were. Up to the present I have not been able to reveal it to you, but I reveal it now.' When the Lord chastens you like that, let Him have His way. Let Him relate you rightly to God. . . 'Nor faint when thou art rebuked of Him.' We get into sulks with God and say--'Oh well, I can't help it; I did pray and things did not turn out right, and I am going to give it all up.' Sanctification is not my idea of what I want God to do for me; it is God's idea of what He wants to do for me, and He has to get me into the attitude of mind and spirit where at any cost I will let Him sanctify me wholly...- Chambers, My Utmost.....Heb12:5 "Do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when He rebukes you."

"But God is so rich in mercy, and He loved us so much(Ephesians2:4), that even though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. It is only by God's grace that you have been saved(v5)! For He raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus(v6). So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of His grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all He has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus(v7). God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God(v8). Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it(v9). For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago(v10)."

"Are we beginning to praise ourselves again? Are we like others, who need to bring you letters of recommendation, or who ask you to write such letters on their behalf? Surely not(2Corinthians3:1)! The only letter of recommendation we need is you yourselves. Your lives are a letter written in our hearts; everyone can read it and recognize our good work among you(v2). Clearly, you are a letter from Christ showing our ministry among you. This 'letter' is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living God. It is carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts(v3). We are confident of all this because of our great trust in God through Christ(v4). It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God(v5). He has enabled us to be ministers of His new covenant. This is a covenant not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old written covenant ends in death; but under the new covenant, the Spirit gives life(v6)."

Once we learn to wait for the Lord's leading in everything, we will know the strength that finds 'its highest point in an even and steady walk'. Many of us are lacking the strength we so desire, but God gives complete power for every task He calls us to perform. Waiting--keeping yourself faithful to His leading--this is the secret of strength. And anything that does not align with obedience to Him is a waste of time and energy. Watch and wait for His leading. The greatest life is: "after you have done everything, to stand(Ephesians6:13)."...- Gordon-Miller, Streams In The Desert.....Psa40:1 "I waited patiently for the Lord."

"A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences (Proverbs22:3)."
#0002458
"True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life(Proverbs22:4). Corrupt people walk a thorny, treacherous road; whoever values life will avoid it(v5)."

"Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it(Proverbs22:6)."

If you judge people, you have no time to love them...- Mother Teresa.....Galatians5:25,26 "Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit's leading in every part of our lives. Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another."

"But how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them(Rom10:14)?
#0002462
"The message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart. And that message is the very message about faith that we preach(Rom10:8): If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved(v9). For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved(v10). As the Scriptures tell us, 'Anyone who trusts in Him will never be disgraced(v11).' Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on Him(v12). For 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved'(v13)."

Pride in oneself can be very dangerous. Pride must never exalt us above other people or distance us from God. As Jesus taught repeatedly, humility must grace the Christian. When Jairus's daughter became very ill, this proud man sought out Jesus and publicly begged Him to come to his house. We must admit that we are powerless without God, as Jairus did(Luke8), and then we can be blessed with saving power...Luke8:50 "Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, 'Don't be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed'."...- Jimmy Carter, Through The Year.....PRAYER: O Lord, thank You for giving me the ability, the strength, and the resources to accomplish notable things; but thank You even more for Your grace and mercy that You bestow on me when I encounter challenges that overwhelm me. Give me the humility that comes from an accurate assessment of myself, along with a greater vision of Your majesty. I pray in Jesus Name. Amen.

As we graciously walk in His ways and obedience, what comfort and strength we have to know that we have a mighty God to depend on...- Tyndale, NLT Life Application Bible.....Deut31:6-8 "So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you." [7] Then Moses called for Joshua, and as all Israel watched, he said to him, "Be strong and courageous! For you will lead these people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors he would give them. You are the one who will divide it among them as their grants of land. [8] Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you."

The Israelites revered Joshua for his role in leading them across the Jordan river. He, like Moses, would receive Israel's praises generation after generation. Although Israel was not a world power at that time, Joshua's reputation for handling his responsibilities God's way brought him greater glory than if he had been a hero in a "superpower" nation. Doing right is more important than doing well...- Tyndale, NLT Life Application Bible.....Joshua4:14 "That day the Lord made Joshua a great leader in the eyes of all the Israelites, and for the rest of his life they revered him as much as they revered Moses."

"As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more(Psa103:15,16).- So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom(Psa90:12).- What shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul(Mark8:36)?- A voice said, 'Shout!' I asked, 'What should I shout?' "Shout that people are like the grass. Their beauty fades as quickly as the flowers in a field. The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever(Isa40:6-8)."
#0002467
"Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever(1Jn15-17).- Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near(Heb10:23-25)."
#0002468
"What God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to Thy works, and according to Thy might(Deut3:24)?- For who in all of heaven can compare with the Lord? What mightiest angel is anything like the Lord? The highest angelic powers stand in awe of God. He is far more awesome than all who surround His throne. O Lord God of Heaven's Armies! Where is there anyone as mighty as You, O Lord? You are entirely faithful(Psa89:6-8).- Among the gods there is none like unto Thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto Thy works(Psa86:8)."
#0002469
Many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view...- George Lucas.........1Cor2:9,10 "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him. But it was to us that God revealed these things by His Spirit. For His Spirit searches out everything and shows us God's deep secrets."

Most people are searching for happiness. They're looking for it. They're trying to find it in someone or something outside of themselves. That's a fundamental mistake. Happiness is something that you are, and it comes from the way you think...- Wayne W Dyer.....1Cor2:11 "No one can know a person's thoughts except that person's own spirit, and no one can know God's thoughts except God's own Spirit. And we have received God's Spirit, not the world's spirit, so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us."

In Tolstoy's "Man and Dame Fortune," the hero is told he can have the right to all the land around which he can plow a furrow in a single day. The man started off with great vigor, and was going to encompass only that which he could easily care for. But as the day progressed, he desired more and more rights. He plowed and plowed, until at the end of the day he could in no possible way return to his original point of departure, but struggling to do so, he fell, the victim of a heart attack. The only right he secured was the right to 18 square feet of land in which to be buried. Russell T.Loesch.....1Cor2:13,14 "When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit's words to explain spiritual truths. But people who aren't spiritual can't receive these truths from God's Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can't understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means."

"For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true. Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them(Eph5:8-11).- Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God(Phi1:11).- Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven(Mat5:16).- Ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light(1Pet2:9)."
#0002473
"But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the Lord their God. He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He keeps every promise forever(Psa146:5,6).- His truth shall be thy shield and buckler(Psa91:4).- The Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning(Jam1:17).- Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and to-day, and for ever(Heb13:8).- God also bound Himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that He would never change His mind. So God has given both His promise and His oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to Him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us(Heb6:17,18).- Don't put your confidence in powerful people; there is no help for you there. When they breathe their last, they return to the earth, and all their plans die with them(Psa146:3,4).- The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep His covenant and obey His testimonies(Psa25:10)."

"O Lord, I give my life to You(Psa25:1). I trust in You, my God! Do not let me be disgraced, or let my enemies rejoice in my defeat(v2). No one who trusts in You will ever be disgraced, but disgrace comes to those who try to deceive others(v3). Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow(v4). Lead me by Your truth and teach me, for You are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in You(v5). Remember, O Lord, Your compassion and unfailing love, which You have shown from long ages past(v6). Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of Your unfailing love, for You are merciful, O Lord(Psalm25:7)."
#0002475
"The Lord is good and does what is right; He shows the proper path to those who go astray(Psa25:8). He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them His way(v9). The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep His covenant and obey His demands(v10). For the honor of Your Name, O Lord, forgive my many, many sins(v11). Who are those who fear the Lord? He will show them the path they should choose(v12). They will live in prosperity, and their children will inherit the land(v13). The Lord is a friend to those who fear Him. He teaches them His covenant(v14). My eyes are always on the Lord, for He rescues me from the traps of my enemies(v15).- May integrity and honesty protect me, for I put my hope in You(Psalm25:21)."
