"Remember Him before the light of the sun, moon, and stars is dim to your old eyes, and rain clouds continually darken your sky(Ecclesiastes12:2). Remember him before your legs--the guards of your house-- start to tremble; and before your shoulders--the strong men--stoop. Remember him before your teeth--your few remaining servants--stop grinding; and before your eyes--the women looking through the windows--see dimly(v3). Remember Him before the door to life's opportunities is closed and the sound of work fades. Now you rise at the first chirping of the birds, but then all their sounds will grow faint(Ecc12:4)."

When I was young, maybe 6 or 7 years old, I'd play on the Navy golf course with my pop. My dad would say, 'Okay, where do you want to hit the ball?' I'd pick a spot and say I want to hit it there. He'd shrug and say, 'Fine, then figure out how to do it.' He didn't position my arm, adjust my feet, or change my thinking. He just said go ahead and hit the darn ball. My dad's advice to me was to simplify. He knew that at my age I couldn't digest all of golf's intricacies. He kept it simple: If you want to hit the ball to a particular spot, figure out a way to do it. Even today, when I'm struggling with my game, I can still hear him say, 'Pick a spot and just hit it.' When I'm making adjustments during a round, I know some of the television commentators theorize that I'm changing this or moving that, but really what I'm doing is listening to Pop...- Tiger Woods, FORTUNE 500 SERIES, THE BEST ADVICE I EVER GOT.....Isa42:3 "A bruised reed shall He not break, and the smoking flax shall He not quench.”

"You have been taught the Holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus(2Tim3:15). All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right(v16). God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work(v17). I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when He appears to set up His Kingdom: Preach the Word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching(2Timothy4:1,2)."

"Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled and became slaves to many lusts and pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy, and we hated each other(Titus3:3). But--when God our Savior revealed His kindness and love(v4), He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit(v5). He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior(v6). Because of His grace He declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life(v7). This is a trustworthy saying, and I want you to insist on these teachings so that all who trust in God will devote themselves to doing good. These teachings are good and beneficial for everyone(Titus3:8)."

"Do not get involved in foolish discussions about spiritual pedigrees or in quarrels and fights about obedience to Jewish laws. These things are useless and a waste of time(Titus3:9). If people are causing divisions among you, give a first and second warning. After that, have nothing more to do with them(v10). For people like that have turned away from the truth, and their own sins condemn them(Titus3:11).- Again I say, don't get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights(2Timothy2:23). A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people(v24). Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people's hearts, and they will learn the truth(v25). Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil's trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants(2Tim2:26)."

Hire A Coach. The advice that sticks out I got from John Doerr, who in 2001 said, 'My advice to you is to have a coach.' The coach he said I should have is Bill Campbell, see 'Secret Coach' on fortune.com. I initially resented the advice, because after all, I was a CE0. I was pretty experienced. Why would I need a coach? Am I doing something wrong? My argument was, How could a coach advise me if I'm the best person in the world at this? But that's not what a coach does. The coach doesn't have to play the sport as well as you do. They have to watch you and get you to be your best. In the business context a coach is not a repetitious coach. A coach is somebody who looks at something with another set of eyes, describes it to you in his words, and discusses how to approach the problem. Once I realized i could trust him and that he could help me with perspective, I decided this was a great idea. When there is a business conflict you tend to get rat-holed into it. Bill's general advice has been to rise one step higher, above the person on the other side of the table, and to take the long view. He’ll say. ‘You’re letting it bother you. Don’t’….Eric Schmidt, Chairman and CEO, Geogle, on Fortune Series 500, THE BEST ADVICE I EVER GOT…. Phi2:13 “It is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.”

Set Realistic Goals. I've gotten a lot of really good advice, but the advice that I always go back to is something my mother told me. She said to set realistic goals, achieve them, and recalibrate your goals so that you're constantly moving forward, as opposed to setting dreamer-type goals that you're going to get frustrated by...- Meredith Whitney (39), MW Advisory Group, Fortune500 Series on The BEST ADVICE I Ever Got....2Thess2:16,17 "Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say."

What this power is, I cannot say. All I know is that it exists...and it becomes available only when you are in that state of mind in which you know exactly what you want...and are fully determined not to quit until you get it...- Alexander Graham Bell........Romans8:15-17 "So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God's Spirit when He adopted you as His own children. Now we call Him, 'Abba, Father.' For His Spirit joins with our Spirit to affirm that we are God's children. And since we are His children, we are His heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God's glory. But if we are to share His glory, we must also share His suffering."

#0002889

The mind that is anxious about future events is miserable...- Seneca.........Romans8:26-28 "And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don't know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God's own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them."

#0002890

On that first Christmas night in Bethlehem, "God was manifested in the flesh(1Tim3:16)." This manifestation was in the person of Jesus Christ. What an incredible truth! Think of it: The God of the universe came down from Heaven that first Christmas night and took human form! If you want to know what God is like, then take a long look at Jesus Christ--because He was God in human flesh. In Him were displayed not only the perfections that had been exhibited in the creation--such as wisdom, power, and majesty--but also such perfections as justice, mercy, grace, and love. "The Word was God. . . . And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us(John1:1,14)." To His disciples Jesus said, "You believe in God, believe also in Me(Jn14:1)." The sequence of faith is inevitable. If we believe in what God made and what God said, we will believe in the One whom God sent...- Billy Graham, Hope For Each Day.....Col2:9 "In Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily."

#0002891

Do not indulge in the eccentricities of folly. Like vanity, presumptuousness, egotism, untrustworthiness, capriciousness, obstinacy, fancifulness, theatricalism, whimsy, inquisitiveness, contradiction, and all forms of one-sidedness--they are all monstrosities of impertinence. All deformity of mind is more obnoxious than that of the body, because it violates a higher beauty. Yet who can assist such a complete confusion of mind? Where self-control is wanting, there is no room for other's guidance. Instead of paying attention to other people's real derision, people of this kind blind themselves with the false hope of imaginary applause...- Baltasar Gracian Aphorism168, Worldly Wisdom, by JJacobs........1Peter4:16,17 "For the time has come for judgment, and it must begin with God's household. And if judgment begins with us, what terrible fate awaits those who have never obeyed God's Good News? And also, 'If the righteous are barely saved, what will happen to godless sinners?'"

Wage war honorably. You may be obliged to wage war but not to use poisoned arrows. Everyone must act as he is, not as others would make him to be. Gallantry in the battle of life wins everyone's praise; one should fight so as to conquer, not alone by force but by the way it is used. A mean victory brings no glory, but rather disgrace. Honor always has the upper hand. An honorable person never uses forbidden weapons, such as using a friendship that's ended for the purposes of a hatred just begun; a confidence must never be used for a vengeance. The slightest taint of treason tarnishes one's good name in people of honor the smallest trace of meanness repels. The noble and the ignoble should be miles apart. Be able to boast that if gallantry, generosity, and fidelity were lost in the world people would be able to rediscover them in your own heart...- Baltasar Gracian Aphorism165, Worldly Wisdom, by JJacobs.....Rom12:11 "Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord."

#0002893

"And now I entrust you to God and the message of His grace that is able to build you up and give you an inheritance with all those who He has set apart for Himself(Acts20:32).- May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation--the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ--for this will bring much glory and praise to God(Philippians1:11).- Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have confessed so well before many witnesses(1Timothy6:12).- Don't be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God Himself. For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering with Him(Philippians1:28,29)."

Be Forewarned: For most people, depression and December go together. Ask any psychologist and he will tell you that the celebrations focusing around the Christmas season are as difficult for many to enjoy as they are joyful for others. A man who was no stranger to depression once wrote of his heart's cry and pain. His name was David and he spoke of depression as a pit that had trapped him. Here's how he put it: "Come quickly, Lord, and answer me, for my depression deepens. Don't turn away from me or I will die(Psalm143:7)." Does the same solution that David cried for work today? Is there a spiritual solution to depression, one which comes through a God-connection that can take you beyond the loneliness and estrangement of broken relationships and broken lives? And the good news is that God, who did this for David is still healing broken hearts today...- Sala, Refuge And Strength.....Psa147:3 "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

#0002895

"A hard worker has plenty of food, but a person who chases fantasies has no sense(Proverbs12:11). Thieves are jealous of each other's loot, but the godly are well rooted and bear their own fruit(v12). The wicked are trapped by their own words, but the godly escape such trouble(v13). Wise words bring many benefits, and hard work brings rewards(v14). Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others(v15)."

#0002896

'The power of prayer': these words are so familiar, yet sometimes we forget what they mean. Prayer is a powerful tool for communicating with our Creator; it is an opportunity to commune with the giver of all things good. Prayer helps us find strength for today and hope for the future. Prayer is not a thing to be taken lightly or to be used infrequently. The quality of your spiritual life will be in direct proportion to the quality of your prayer life. Prayer changes things, and it changes you. Today, instead of turning things over in your mind, turn them over to God in prayer. Instead of worrying about your next decision, ask God to lead the way. Pray constantly about things great and small. God is listening, and He wants to hear from you now. Where there is much prayer, there will be much of the Spirit; where there is much of the Spirit, there will be ever-increasing power...- Andrew Murray.....James5:16 "The intense prayer of the righteous is very powerful."

#0002897

"A glad heart makes a happy face; a broken heart crushes the spirit(Proverbs15:16). A wise person is hungry for knowledge, while the fool feeds on trash(v7). For the despondent, every day brings trouble; for the happy heart, life is a continual feast(Prv15:15)."

#0002898

When love, or the Spirit of God strikes a man, he is transformed, he no longer insists upon his separate individuality. Our Lord never spoke in terms of individuality, of a man's "elbows" or his isolated position, but in terms of personality--'that they may be one as We are one(John17:22).' If you give up your right to yourself to God, the real true nature of your personality answers to God straight away. Jesus Christ emancipates the personality, and the individuality is transfigured; the transfiguring element is love, personal devotion to Jesus. Love is the outpouring of one personality in fellowship with another personality...- Chambers, My Utmost For His Highest.....Jn17:22 "I have given them the glory you gave Me, so they may be one as We are one."

#0002899

"Lord, you will grant us peace; all we have accomplished is really from you(Isaiah26:12). O Lord our God, others have ruled us, but you alone are the one we worship(v13). Those we served before are dead and gone. Their departed spirits will never return(Isa26:14).- Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God(2Cor3:5)."

#0002900

"Make His praise glorious(Psa66:2).- This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth My praise(Isa43:21).- I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against Me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against Me. And it shall be to Me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth(Jer33:8,9).- By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name(Heb13:15)."

#0002901

"I will praise Thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify Thy Name for evermore. For great is Thy mercy toward me: and Thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell(Psa86:12,13).- Who is like unto Thee, O Lord, . . . glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders(Ex15:11)?- I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving(Psa69:30).- They sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, 'Great and marvelous are Thy works, Lord God Almighty'(Rev15:3)."

#0002902

The art of letting things alone. The more so the wilder the waves of public or of private life. There are hurricanes in human affairs, tempests of passion, when it is wise to retire to a harbor and ride it out at anchor. Remedies often make diseases worse; in such cases one has to leave them to their natural course and the moral influence of time. It takes a wise doctor to know when not to prescribe, and at times the greater skill consists in not applying remedies. The proper way to still the storms of the vulgar is to hold yourself back and let them calm down by themselves. To give way now is to conquer by and by. A fountain gets muddy with but little stirring up, and does not get clear by our meddling with it but by our leaving it alone. The best remedy for disturbances is to let them run their course, for so they quiet down...- Baltasar Gracian Aphorism138, Worldly Wisdom by JJacobs.....Zeph3:15 "The Lord is in the midst of thee."

#0002903

Rather than being in a supervisory position, sitting in an office, I most enjoyed it when I went out and worked with the factory guys on the assembly floor, when I implemented 'kaizen' [continuous improvement] ideas and worked together with the front line workers to implement them. That gave me the most gratitude and helped me the most in my career...- Akio Toyoda, Toyota's New President and Grandson of The Founder, FORTUNE July2009.....Matthew21:28 "Son, go to work today in My vineyard."

#0002904

Only act with honorable people. You can trust them and they you. Their honor is the best surety of their behavior even in misunderstandings, for they always act according to their character. Hence it is better to have a dispute with honorable people than to have a victory over dishonorable ones. You cannot deal well with the ruined, for they have no hostages for rectitude. With them there is no true friendship, and their agreements are not binding, however stringent they may appear, because they have no feeling of honor. Never have anything to do with such people, for if honor does not restrain them, virtue will not, since honor is the throne of rectitude...- Baltasar Gracian Aphorism116, The Art Of Worldly Wisdom, by JJacobs.....Isa25:11 "God will push down Moab's people as a swimmer pushes down water with His hands. He will end their pride and all their evil works."
