Self-righteousness is dangerous. It leads to pride, causes a person to despise others, and prevents him or her from learning anything from God...- Tyndale, NLV Life Application Bible....Luke18:11-14 "The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer: 'I thank You, God, that I am not a sinner like everyone else. For I don't cheat, I don't sin, and I don't commit adultery. I'm certainly not like that tax collector! I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income. But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, 'O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.' I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted."

The vision must be followed by the venture. It is not enough to stare up the steps -we must step up the stairs...- Vance Havner.....Psalm37:5,6 "Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust Him, and He will help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun."
#0002328
Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does...- William James.....Psalm37:1,2 "Don't worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. For like grass, they soon fade away. Like spring flowers, they soon wither. Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your heart's desires."
#0002329
We are not saved by loving others, but we love others because we are saved...- JSoriano...... Revelations2:26. - Rev3:21 "He that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him I will give power over the nations.” – “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in My throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with My Father in His throne."

The greatest glory of a free born people is to transmit that freedom to their children...- William Harvard........ Jn13:23.-Isa66:13.-Mark10:13,16 "Leaning on Jesus bosom.- As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you.- They brought young children to Him, that He should touch them. And He took them up in His arms, put His hands upon them, and blessed them."

"It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes(Psa118:8,9).- Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God(Psa146:5).- I was brought low, and He helped me(Psa116:6).- Blessed be the Lord, because He hath heard the voice of my supplications. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise Him(Psa28:6,7).- Because Thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of Thy wings will I rejoice(Psa63:7)."

The Son of God knows all about human nature. Jesus was well aware of the truth of Jeremiah17:9, which states, "The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?" Jesus was discerning, and He knew that the faith of some followers was superficial. Some of the same people claiming to believe in Jesus at this time would later yell, "Crucify Him!" It's easy to believe when it is exciting and everyone else believes the same way. But keep your faith firm even when it isn't popular to follow Christ...- Tyndale, NLV Life App Bible.....John2:23-25 "Because of the miraculous signs Jesus did in Jerusalem at the Passover celebration, many began to trust in Him. But Jesus didn't trust them, because He knew human nature. No one needed to tell Him what mankind is really like."
##0002333
"There was a man named Nicodemus, a Jewish religious leader who was a Pharisee. After dark one evening, he came to speak with Jesus(John3:1). 'Rabbi,' he said, 'we all know that God has sent you to teach us. Your miraculous signs are evidence that God is with you(v2).' Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God(v3)." 'What do You mean?' exclaimed Nicodemus. 'How can an old man go back into his mother's womb and be born again(v4)?' Jesus replied, "I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit(v5). Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life(v6). So don't be surprised when I say, 'You must be born again(v7).' The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can't tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you cannot explain how people are born of the Spirit(v8)."

Self-pity is our worst enemy, and if we yield to it we can never do anything good in the world...- Hellen Keller........Mark11:24,25 "Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours. When you stand to pray, forgive anyone against whom you have a grievance, so that your heavenly Father may in turn forgive you your transgressions."
#0002335
I have always thought it would be a blessing if each person could be blind and deaf for a few days during his early adult life. Darkness would make him appreciate sight and silence would teach him the joys of sound...- Hellen Keller.....Prv1:20-23 "Wisdom shouts in the streets. She cries out in the public square. She calls to the crowds along the main street, to those gathered in front of the city gate: 'How long, you simpletons, will you insist on being simpleminded? How long will you mockers relish your mocking? How long will you fools hate knowledge? Come and listen to my counsel. I'll share my heart with you and make you wise'."
#0002336
The world is moved not only by the mighty shoves of the heroes, but also by the aggregate of the tiny pushes of each honest worker... - Hellen Keller.....Revelations14:13 "And I heard a voice from heaven saying, 'Write this down: Blessed are those who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, they are blessed indeed, for they will rest from their hard work; for their good deeds follow them'!"
#0002337
"'How are these things possible?' Nicodemus asked(John3:9). Jesus replied, 'You are a respected Jewish teacher, and yet you don't understand these things(v10)? I assure you, we tell you what we know and have seen, and yet you won't believe our testimony(v11). But if you don't believe Me when I tell you about earthly things, how can you possibly believe if I tell you about heavenly things(v12)? No one has ever gone to heaven and returned. But the Son of Man has come down from heaven(v13). And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up(v14), so that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life(v15).' For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life(v15)."
#0002338
"God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him(John3:17). There is no judgment against anyone who believes in Him. But anyone who does not believe in Him has already been judged for not believing in God's one and only Son(v18). And the judgment is based on this fact: God's light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil(v19). All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed(v20). But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants(v21)."
#0002339
Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light...- Helen Keller.....Proverbs22:3 "A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences."
#0002340
Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it...- Hellen Keller........Proverbs21:30 "No human wisdom or understanding or plan can stand against the Lord."
#0002341
"Choose a good reputation over great riches; being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold(Proverbs22:1). The rich and poor have this in common: the Lord made them both(v2). A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences(v3). True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life(v4). Corrupt people walk a thorny, treacherous road; whoever values life will avoid it(v5). Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it(v6). Just as the rich rule the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender(v7). Those who plant injustice will harvest disaster, and their reign of terror will come to an end(v8). Blessed are those who are generous, because they feed the poor(v9). Throw out the mocker, and fighting goes, too. Quarrels and insults will disappear(Prv22:10)."
#0002342
"A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear(Prv25:11,12).- Let your speech be always with grace(Col4:6).- Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers(Eph4:29).- A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things(Mat12:35,37).- By thy words thou shalt be justified(Prv12:18).- Some people make cutting remarks, but the words of the wise bring healing(Prv12:18).- This is how the Lord responds: 'If you return to me, I will restore you so you can continue to serve Me. If you speak good words rather than worthless ones, you will be my spokesman. You must influence them; do not let them influence you! They will fight against you like an attacking army, but I will make you as secure as a fortified wall of bronze(Jer15:19,20)."
#0002343
The past is the Roots, not the Trunk, nor the Branches. The future is God's Will, and innumerable fruitful Trees; God's bountiful harvest, if You have learned and 'surrendered' it all to Him by now...- HBP..... Hebrews11:1 "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
#0002344
"Then those who feared the Lord spoke with each other, and the Lord listened to what they said. In His presence, a scroll of remembrance was written to record the names of those who feared Him and always thought about the honor of His name(Malachi3:16). 'They will be my people,' says the Lord of Heaven's Armies. 'On the day when I act in judgement, they will be my own special treasure. I will spare them as a father spares an obedient child(v17). Then you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not'(v18)."- The Lord of Heaven's Armies says, 'The day of judgement is coming, burning like a furnace. On that day the arrogant and the wicked will be burned up like straw. They will be consumed--roots, branches, and all'(Mal4:1). But for you who fear My name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in His wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture(v2)."
#0002345
"If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall(1Cor10:12). The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can endure(v13).".....Tyndale, NLV Life Application Footnote: Recognize those people and situations that give you trouble. Run from anything you know is wrong. Choose to do only what is right. Pray for God's help. And seek friends who love God and can offer help when you are tempted.
#0002346
Living a life of faith often requires us to leave things alone. If we have completely entrusted something to God, we must keep our hands off it. He can guard it better than we can, and He does not need our help...- Cowman-Reimann, Streams In The Desert.....Psalm37:7 "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes."
#0002347
"Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others(1Cor2:15). For, 'Who can know the Lord's thoughts? Who knows enough to teach Him?' But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ(v16)."..... Tyndale, NLV Life Application Study Bible footnote: No one can know what the Lord is thinking(Rom11:34), but through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, believers have insight into some of God's plans, thoughts, and actions. Through the Holy Spirit, we can begin to know God's thoughts, talk with Him, and expect His answers to our prayers. Are you spending enough time with Christ to have His very mind in you? An intimate relationship with Christ comes only from spending time consistently in His presence and in His Word.
#0002348
Things in our lives may seem to be going all wrong, but God knows our circumstances better than we do. And He will work at the perfect moment, if we will completely trust Him to work in His own way and in His own time. Often there is nothing as godly as inactivity on our part, or nothing as harmful as restless working, for God has promised to work His Sovereign Will...- ABSimpson.....2Chronicles20:12 "We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you."
#0002349
"Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you(Heb13:5).....Jesus said, "And, lo, I am with you always. . . " The force of the word "lo" is this: "Listen carefully," or "Pay attention to this--it's very important." Then He promised, "I am with you always, to the very end of the age(Mat28:20)." Never forget, though, that this promise was made to His children, to those who know Him as Lord and Savior...- Sala, Refuge And Strength.....Mat28:20 "Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
#0002350
It's not enough for a leader to have vision, energy, drive, and conviction. If you want to see your dream come to fruition, you must learn how to develop the leaders around you...- John C. Maxwell, Developing The Leaders Around You.....1Tim4:10,11 "This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers. Teach these things and insist that everyone learn them. Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, your purity."
#0002351
The greatest leadership principle that I have ever learned in over twenty-five years of leadership, is that those closest to the leader will determine the success level of that leader...- John C. Maxwell, Developing the Leaders Around You.....1Tim4:9 "If you explain these things to the brothers and sisters, Timothy, you will be a worthy servant of Christ Jesus, one who is nourished by the message of faith and the good teaching you have followed. Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives' tales. Instead, train yourself to be godly. Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come. This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it."
#0002352
"I, the Lord, made you, and I will not forget you(Isaiah44:21b). I have swept away your sins like a cloud. I have scattered your offenses like the morning mist. Oh, return to Me, for I have paid the price to set you free(v22).- Your sins are forgiven you for His name's sake(1John2:12).- God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you(Ephesians4:32).- That He might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus(Romans3:26).- If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness(1John1:9).- This is He that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ: not by water only, but by water and blood(1John5:6)."
#0002353
"Can unjust leaders claim that God is on their side--leaders whose decrees permit injustice(Psalm94:20)? They gang up against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death(v21). But the Lord is my fortress; my God is the mighty rock where I hide(v22). God will turn the sins of evil people back on them. He will destroy them for their sins. The Lord our God will destroy them(v23).- Who will protect me from the wicked? Who will stand up for me against evildoers(Psalm94:16)? Unless the Lord had helped me, I would have settled in the silence of the grave(v17). I cried out, 'I am slipping!' but Your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me(v18). When doubts filled my mind, Your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer(v19)."
#0002354
More men die of worry than of work, because more men worry than work...- Robert Frost.....Eph6:12 "We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.- The prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience."
